Here’s what happens when good planning precedes the shooting of a film. ‘Kanden Kadhalai’, directed by Kannan and starring Bharath and Tammannah, has completed its first schedule of the film covering close to 50% a period of 27 days, in Chengalpet, Ooty, Coonoor, Pollachi, Tirumoorthy Dam and locations surrounding these areas. The rest of the film will be shot in Theni, Pollachi and Chennai and the film, produced by Moser Baer, is will be set for release in September.

You might argue that the film’s creative responsibilities are limited as it is only a remake of the successful Bollywood film, 'Jab We Met'. The cast, however, does not think so. “Though it is a remake, we have added lot of newness to it during the shoot and these small changes are going to make the difference to the film. The two songs shot so far have come out better than the original and I quite enjoyed working in the film so far. Both Bharath and myself could bring in newer aspects to the film, thanks to Director Kannan’s inputs and encouragement. I am looking forward to the next schedule,” says Tamannah, who play’s Bebo’s role of a bubbly loquacious girl in the film.

And actor Bharath seconds her. “It is a wonderful team to work with. It is very exciting to be a part of the remake of the film, which was a Super Hit in Hindi last year. To replicate the film in the same way as it was made in Hindi is a challenge especially the nuances and the feelings of the characters, but both Tamannah and myself are doing our best to live up the performances of Shahid and Kareena.”

Kannan, the director of the film, says “My job was made easier by the excellent and speedy camera work by P.G. Muthaiah and the entire Production team, which offered everything on time without any compromise.”

According to the Producer of the film G. Dhananjayan, “Kanden Kadhalai will be a different experience for Tamil audience as they would see a remake in Tamil with several interesting changes suiting the Tamil culture and the taste of Tamil audience.”
